Systems Update

Commando System
The Hursthill 1 and 2 reservoirs are critically low. Poor pressure to no water is expected in high-lying areas of the supply zone. Johannesburg Water and Rand Water are working together in terms of reconfiguring the system and moving additional capacity of water to improve flows coming into the Commando meter.

These interventions will provide improvements to this system. Alternative water supply in the form of tankers, are being provided.
Affected areas: Hursthill, Crosby, Auckland Park, Jan Hofmeyer, Vredepark, Vrededorp. Sophiatown, Coronationville, Westdene and surrounding areas.

Zondi Reservoir
Certain parts of the supply zone including Dobsonville and surroundings areas are affected by poor pressure to no water due to high demand on the system. Johannesburg Water is monitoring and investigating options to minimize impact to customers.
