Sandton system to be affected by Rand Water maintenance on Thursday
Rand Water will be conducting an unplanned maintenance which will affect the Sandton systems. The maintenance work will take place from Thursday, 11 January from 17:00 until Friday, 12 January at 13:00.
The bulk supplier will be replacing a broken isolation valve at the Sandton 1 meter. The maintenance work is necessary to ensure a continuous water supply to the systems.
Both Sandton 1 and 2 meters will be closed. Therefore, there will be no water supply coming into the Sandton areas as water will be isolated (closed) throughout the duration of the repairs.
The impact should be mostly low pressure for customers; however, no water may be expected in some areas, particularly high-lying areas. Alternative water supply will be provided should it be necessary.
Once repairs are completed on Friday, all the reservoirs will be steadily filled over the weekend and water supply should be stable again by the start of the new week.
