Direct feeds into Sandton impacted by the closing of Sandton 1 and 2 meters

Johannesburg Water is aware of the current water supply challenges affecting residents in parts of Sandton which are fed off direct feeds.

The water interruption is due to the closing of the Sandton 1 and 2 meters to allow Rand Water reservoirs, which are further upstream of the system, to recover. These reservoirs are currently at low levels.

As a result, the Linbro Park and Marlboro direct feeds have no water supply. Although the system is due to be opened again today at 15:00, it may take some time for the network to build up capacity and supply normally again.

Johannesburg Water will monitor Sandton system’s direct feeds and reservoir levels.

The following suburbs are affected:
Linbro Park Exts 42, 62, 86, and 89; Linbro Park A.H; Modderfontein A.H; Westlake View Exts 10 and 11; The Woodlands, The Woodlands Exts 1, 4, Woodmead Exts 5, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 23, 25, and 30; Buccleuch, Sandown Ext 24, Gallo Manor, Gallo Manor Exts 2, 3, 4, and 6; Eastgate Exts 3, 8, and 12; Kelvin, Kelvin View, Marlboro Ext.1, Marlboro, Marlboro Gardens, Marlboro Gardens Ext.1, Kew, Bramley, Bramley North, Bramley North Exts 1 and 2, Bramley Park, Alexandra Exts 24, 25, 32, 35, 51, 52, 59, 66, and 68; Alexandra East Bank, Wesco Park, Glen Atholl, Glen Atholl Ext.1, Kramerville, Wendywood, Morningside Manor Ext.5, Morningside Ext.17, Morningside A.H., Wendywood Exts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 11, and 14, Eastgate, Eastgate Exts 6, 9, 13, 18, and 21; Wynberg, Wynberg Exts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7; Atholl Gardens, Atholl Exts 1, 5, Atholhurst, Atholhurst Ext.1, Raumarais Park, Barlow Park, and Elton Hill Ext.1,
