Roodepoort/Randburg update
Repairs to four major burst pipes are currently underway in Wilgeheuwel, Weltevreden Park, Florida Hills, and Randpark Ridge.
Water has been isolated to complete the repairs, and Johannesburg Water teams are on site busy with excavations.
Thereafter, assessments will be conducted to determine the material needed to complete the repairs. The relevant material will then be sourced, and welding will commence later today.
The estimated time of repairs for the burst pipe in Sterretjie Street, Weltevreden Park is 18:00 tonight. There is currently no estimated time for completion on the other repairs.
This will result in poor pressure to no water for customers within these areas.
Affected areas: Wilgeheuwel and surrounds, Weltevreden Park and surrounds, Florida Hills and surrounds, as well as Randpark Ridge and surrounds.
Johannesburg Water is arranging alternative water supply for the affected areas. The Entity is monitoring the situation.
