Update on Randjieslaagte Reservoir
The fabrication process has been completed and ready for tomorrow when repairs will commence.
The reservoir level is stable and supplying the supply zones normally. Johannesburg Water is monitoring and attending to airlocks in the system to ensure there are no water challenges.
During the maintenance work, the supply zone will be supplied from the reservoir and the bypass to mitigate the impact to customers. No water may be experienced in certain parts of the supply zone.
The maintenance work is scheduled as follows:
Areas: Randjieslaagte Reservoir supply zone
Date: 21 May 2024
Time: 09:00 to 20:00
Purpose: Replacement of a section of the inlet pipe
Restoration will commence as soon repairs are completed, and the network will gradually improve overnight after the repairs on Tuesday. Johannesburg Water will monitor and update on the progress.
Alternative water supply through water tankers continues to be provided to the affected areas.
