Commando System and Alexander Park Reservoir update
Some of the Johannesburg Water systems are constrained, therefore, due to high demand, necessary interventions are put in place and need to be implemented daily. This will allow systems to build capacity for the next day.
The following reservoirs’ outlet will be closed overnight from 20:00 and opened the next day in the morning at 04:00:
• Hursthill 2 Reservoir: critically low, however, improvement is expected overnight. Poor pressure to no water may be experienced in certain parts of the supply zone.
• Brixton Reservoir: currently low but supplying normally, and improvement is expected overnight. The Brixton tower is stable and supplying normally.
• Alexander Park Reservoir: is currently low due to high demand on the system, however, improvement is expected overnight.
Johannesburg Water will continue to monitor the stability of the systems. Updates will be provided to customers.
