Joint statement on the major burst pipe in Sandton
Johannesburg Water and Johannesburg Roads Agency regrets the protracted delay to restore the burst pipe at the corner of Pretoria Avenue and Katherine Street in Sandton.
Both entities are working closely to ensure the full restoration of the area.
The entities conducted a joint site visit, led by Councillor Kenny Kunene, MMC for Transport, and other City officials, to assess the situation and prioritise the necessary remedial work.
The burst water pipe has since been repaired, Eskom has finalised diversion of their cables, and the entities are now tackling the damaged stormwater infrastructure and draining the ground water to enable the final reinstatement.
