Daily water supply system status updates:

Water supply status update by exception (i.e., areas affected due to supply constraint and not service interruption from occasional pipe burst).

Unplanned Interruptions

1. Repairs on two major bursts at corner Witkoppen and William Nicol Drive: Large area outage

Intermittent rain has delayed repairs on the second burst, as the excavation was flooded. The team, together with management, have been onsite throughout the night to finalise repairs, and work will continue this morning until repairs are completed.

Scope of work:
• Repairs to second burst
• Flushing of the network

Affected areas include parts of:
Douglasdale, Fourways, Magaliesig, Witkoppen, Maroeladal, Fourways Gardens, Craigavon, Kengies, Dainfern, Lonehill, Beverly, Paulshof, Pineslopes, Magaliesig View and Noscot.

There is no estimated completion time at this stage. Further updates will be provided to customers. Johannesburg Water apologises to customers for the inconvenience caused.
UPDATE: The team has finalized repairs on the second burst. Valves will be opened gradually to monitor for leaks.

2. No water in parts of Yeoville, Bertrams and Bezuidenhout Valley

Johannesburg Water apologises to customers affected by the outage in parts of Yeoville, Bertrams and Bezuidenhout Valley. During the planned maintenance of reservoirs, Yeoville reservoirs 1 and 3 were isolated to complete the cleaning of Yeoville 2 reservoir. Operational challenges during the opening of outlets, resulted in overflow of Yeoville 1 and 3 reservoirs.
The teams are currently onsite and ensuring that valves are opened to allow the recovery of the network, and to reduce the overflow at the reservoirs.

Customers in high lying areas will experience no water/ low pressure as the systems are normalising. Johannesburg Water apologises to customers for the inconvenience caused.
