Major burst at River Crossing, Johannesburg North
Water has been isolated due to a major burst at River Crossing in Johannesburg North. As a result, there is an emergency shutdown of a 600mm bulk main.
Excavations are currently underway to expose the damaged pipeline, and relevant materials will be sourced for repairs.
There is currently no estimated completion time at this stage.
Affected areas include parts of:
Johannesburg North, Cedar Lakes, Cedar Creek, Broadacres, Needwood, Kya Sands, Northriding, Bloubosrand, Chartwell, Msawawa Informal Settlement, Tirong and Farmall.
Alternate water supply will be arranged for affected areas through mobile tankers.
