Vandalism leads to water supply challenges in Lenasia south
Johannesburg Water is aware of the water supply interruption currently affecting Lenasia south and surrounding areas.
This is due to a main water pipeline that was vandalised in Narens Farm informal settlement on Wednesday morning, 1 November. As such, Johannesburg Water had to implement an emergency water shutdown to conduct repairs.
Water supply to Johannesburg Water systems had to be isolated (closed) which affected the Hospital Hill, Lenasia High Level, and Cosmos reservoir supply zones.
Areas affected by Hospital Hill and Lenasia High level reservoirs will have no water supply tonight. Supply is expected to resume by Thursday morning, 2 November. Customers supplied by Cosmos reservoir will not be affected.
