Update on the recovery of Linden 1 and Blairgowrie systems

Johannesburg Water technical teams are monitoring the progress of the Linden 1 and Blairgowrie reservoirs as they continue to be areas of focus.

Johannesburg Water also reached an agreement this evening with bulk supplier, Rand Water, for an additional 100 Mega Litres to boost volumes to supply struggling systems such as Linden 1 and Blairgowrie. This is aimed at alleviating the strain for communities in the greater Randburg area.

The reservoirs listed below are affected and are currently being supplied by the Waterval system:
• Kensington B reservoir and tower – The reservoir continues to supply normally while the tower is empty. No water is expected in the tower zone.
• Linden 2 reservoir – The reservoir is critically low. Poor pressure to no water is expected in the supply zone.
• Blairgowrie supplied by Linden 1 reservoir – The reservoir is critically low. Poor pressure to no water is expected in the supply zone.
• Linden 1 reservoir and tower – both reservoir and tower are critically low to empty. Poor pressure to no water is expected in the supply zone.

It is anticipated that with the addition supply from the bulk supplier systems wil improve overnight.

Further updates will be provided to customers in this supply zone.
