Update on Commando system and Alexander Park Reservoir

Commando System
The overall water capacity in the reservoirs and towers of the Commando system declined overnight due to decline in inflows and increase in demand. This could be unusual increase in consumption.

The Crosby as well as Hursthill 1 and 2 reservoirs declined in capacity and started off the day with low levels. Poor pressure to no water is expected in the supply zone, particularly high-lying areas.

However, improvements are expected overnight. In the meantime, Johannesburg Water continues to provide alternative water supply to the critically affected areas.
