Deep South water supply update
Ongoing high water consumption is being experienced on the following Deep South (Region G) reservoirs: Orange Farm, Ennerdale / Lawley, Lenasia Hospital Hill, and Lenasia High Level.
Current levels on the systems are as follow:
1.The Lenasia Hospital Hill Reservoir is at 2.23m, while the Lenasia High Level Reservoir is at 2.29m. Both systems were closed at 13:00 today and will be opened at 17:00, then closed again at 21:00 tonight and reopened at 04:00 on Tuesday, 21 May.
2.The Orange Farm Reservoir is sitting at 1.45m. Note that the outlet is throttled daily around 19:30 to 200 litres per second (L/s) to keep some pressure and flow in the system, then reopened the following day around 05:00 to build capacity overnight as the demand is extremely high on this network.
3.The Lawley Reservoir is at 1.4m, which may result in poor pressure to no water should the levels reach below 1.5m. The system is closed overnight around 21:00 if the level is below 1.5m and reopened at 05:00 the following day.
4.The Ennerdale 1 and 2 Reservoirs’ physical levels are at 1.1m, which may result in poor pressure to no water should the levels get below 1m.
Customers are urged to use water sparingly.
