23 June 2024 – 20:20
Systems Update
City Power has implemented a load rotation that commenced at 08:00 this morning and will be until 22:00, therefore, some Johannesburg Water systems are affected.
The load rotation for Waterval and Quellerina Towers is currently underway and will last until 22:30, as a result, there is presently no pumping to both towers. A combination of poor pressure and no water is expected.
The load rotation for Florida North Tower commenced at 16:00 and will be until 20:30, as a result, there is presently no pumping to the tower. A combination of poor pressure and no water is expected.
Load reduction at Yeoville is expected tomorrow morning from 06:00 to 08:30, pumping will then resume once the power supply is restored. A combination of poor pressure and no water is expected during the load reduction.
Corriemoor and Fairlands Reservoirs have improved and are expected to supply normally overnight. Poor pressure may still exist while both systems are recovering.
Horizon Tower
The Rooderport reservoir is gradually improving, however, pumping remains low. No water is expected in the tower zone. Johannesburg Water is monitoring the improvement and will continue to provide alternative water supply through water tankers. Another attempt to resume pumping will be made tomorrow morning. Updates will be provided as soon as the situation improves.

Update: Unplanned Maintenance in Randburg (Judges and Republic)
The repairs to the supply line feeding the reservoirs were successfully completed at 01:00 this morning.
Currently, the pipeline is being slowly charged in order to flush out airlocks and prevent further bursts. Johannesburg Water is closely monitoring the reservoirs as they begin to regain capacity.
The Linden 2 Reservoir, Kensington B Reservoir and Tower, as well as the Linden 1 Tower are showing signs of slow recovery. However, the Linden 1 Reservoir should recover overnight.
Customers will experience poor pressure to no water, and at times, intermittent supply as the reservoir recovers.
