Planned Maintenance – Rand Water Palmiet System (18:00 – 15 July to 06:00 – 16 July)

Johannesburg Water wishes to inform residents of the Rand Water scheduled maintenance of a delivery valve on the Palmiet system on 15th July 2022. The scheduled maintenance will commence at 18h00 on 15th July 2022 and will be completed at 06h00 on the 16th July 2022.

The Palmiet system supplies water to Midrand region, Diepsloot, Linmeyer, Southills, and Klipfontein View through Ekurhuleni municipality. There will be a 30% reduction of normal water supply.

Johannesburg Water does not anticipate water supply disruption, as all Rand Water reservoirs, supplied from the Palmiet system, will be filled to capacity. Most of the work will be completed during the night when demand is at its lowest. The maintenance needs to be done during the low peak season (winter) and will prepare Rand Water for the high water demand season (summer).

Johannesburg Water will monitor affected water supply into affected infrastructure and provide updates to customers as the work progresses.
