NO WATER SHEDDING IN JOHANNESBURG WATER

No water shedding in Johannesburg Water

Johannesburg Water has noted a WhatsApp message purported to be from the City of Johannesburg warning residents about daily water cuts. Residents of the City of Johannesburg are advised that Johannesburg Water has not issued any notices of water rationing /water cuts.

The Entity is attending to planned, unplanned and emergencies water and sewer challenges daily, and customers are urged to report any water or sewer problems through the Call Centre 011 375 5555 /Email customer@jwater.co.za / SMS 076 333 5052 and check on the website.

All our water repairs in the City are published on our social media pages Twitter and Facebook and through short message system (SMS) to affected residents. We plead with residents to use our customer service channels to verify messages that look unusual before sharing and cause unnecessary panic. Residents are also reminded that level 1 water restrictions are still in place in the City of Johannesburg.

Cosmo City Smart Meters Activation Meeting

Johannesburg Water invites residents of Cosmo City EXT 09 & 10 to a meeting with the Councillor, to discuss the programme of activating the smart meters that have been installed in the area recently.

These meetings will be an opportunity for customers and residents to get more information and ask more questions on how the STS meters work, the switching process, vending stations and the monthly demand levy.

The meeting will be taking place as follows:

  • Date: Saturday 07 March 2020
  • Time: 10h00
  • Venue: Sunrise Church, South Africa Drive

Hospital Hill reservoir’s maintenance to affect a large area in the South

Johannesburg Water advises residents of the South that there will be major planned maintenance at Hospital Hill Reservoir’s from 20 – 24 January 2020. Residents and customers will experience low water pressure to no water for the duration of the maintenance. The areas affected will be Zakariya Park, Lehae, Vlakfontein, Vlakfontein proper, Lenasia South and Fine Town.

The entity will be removing old water pumps and installing new water pumps in order to ensure improved and better sustainable water supply to the area and improved service delivery, water tanks and roaming trucks will be organised and placed at strategic points. We are still on track to finish as scheduled.

Kindly be advised that restoration of water supply might take longer to reach certain areas after the work is done due to the difference in elevation and customers are urged to look for updates on the Johannesburg Water social media pages:Twitter@jhbwater and Facebook – Johannesburg Water.
