Systems Update

Johannesburg Water systems are stable, even though high demand still persists and affecting some of our reservoirs.

Commando System
The Commando system is still recovering from power outage on Saturday, 25 May 2024. Demand remains high while supply is low and affecting the capacity of both Hursthill 1 and 2 reservoirs. Brixton reservoir and tower are stable and supplying normal.

Alexander Park reservoir
The reservoir improved overnight and supplying; however, demand is high which will deplete available capacity.

As part of intervention, Brixton, Hursthill 2 and Alexadra Park outlets will be closed overnight to boost capacity of the reservoir.

Roaming water trucks will be provided by Johannesburg Water in required areas.
